Dear young endocrinologists,

The initiative "Young Active in Research Endocrinology" (YARE) has been founded by young endocrinologists during the annual meeting of the German Endocrine Society in 1999. The goal of this initiative is to increase the mutual exchange between young scientists in the initial stages of their career aiming at improved communication and collaboration. We define young not strictly by age but as "fresh in the field", so every student (bachelor/master/MD-/PhD-student or post-doc) is encouraged to join our network. Currently we have more than 230 participants which reflects a high acceptance amongst young endocrine researchers. We are a non-profit organization working in close collaboration with the German Society for Endocrinology (DGE) and the European Society for Endocrinology (ESE). The participation in Young Active Research in Endocrinology is free of charge, only the use of the forum requires registration.

To facilitate the exchange between participants, we established this homepage including an implemented forum. It can be used to advertise new job opportunities and offers the possibility to get answers to scientific and technical questions. Look up our link-section, lots of links to companies as well as useful tools are provided there. Furthermore we are going to establish a network of local YARE ambassadors across Europe, click here for more information about your local YARE contact.

We organize an annual meeting exclusively for young scientists to give an opportunity to present their work in progress, to improve their presentation skills and to establish a scientific network in the area of endocrinology. The participation and accommodation at the annual meeting will be provided, however participants are asked to cover their own travel costs. We usually offer a certain number of travel grants as well.
We also organize sessions at the annual meetings of the German Endocrine Society (DGE) and the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) giving young scientists the platform to present their data to a wide range of senior scientists.

XIVth Annual Meeting, 12.-14. October 2012, Dresden, Germany

It is the nature of science to break national borders as only international exchange opens up the avenues to successful future research. In an attempt to link young endocrinologists all over Europe, we would like to invite all interested young researchers to take part in this project.
